After a long soft-launch in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Rovio let its birds fly free at last, and here they are, emulating Dungeons & Dragons.
Rovio's portfolio is awesome, and for several reasons. Its games are homogeneous, even though every one has its own character. They are usually free or very cheap, and they know how to improve and update what they do even when it isn't at the top of the charts anymore (all Angry Birds games have been updated in the last six months at least).
Straight to the point, Angry Birds Epic is a bolder bet than Go Kart!, not to mention Star Wars. RPGs are still something unseen in the charts of casual gaming, as they are usually oriented to more experienced players. In fact, we're sure that AB: Epic will be the first turn-based medieval fantasy game for many.
The game is loaded with in-app purchases, but everything points to the fact that, as usual, you can finish the game without spending a single cent. This, plus the characteristic Rovio visual design and playability, means you are downloading one of the top hits of 2014.
Epic Sports Tournament is back: go for premium classes or upgrades in an athletic mini-campaign Classy kudos: get new trophies and frames as arena season reward Choose your chest: new design lets you instantly know what’s in it for you Tap once, claim all: accepting gifts is easier with the ‘claim all’ button Don't fear the World Boss, feel the optimized battle balancing And several bugs sent to outer space.
